Design Studio Atomhawk, which has sites in Gateshead and Vancouver, has received the prestigious TIGA STAR Award which recognises excellence and best practice within the games industry.

Independently assessed, the evaluation of Atomhawk by TIGA praised the company’s clear vision for enduring success, commitment to ‘no-crunch’ culture and the promotion of equality of opportunity. It also recognised its innovative approach to the sharing of knowledge and information and its recognition of excellent work internally.

Tim Wilson, Managing Director at Atomhawk, said: “We’re thrilled to have been awarded the prestigious TIGA STAR. The team put a lot of effort into making the studio a great place to work so it’s lovely to be formally recognised for this.

“We aim to provide our team with an environment where they can create great work in a sustainable way. Over the years Atomhawk has invested significantly in ways to support, reward and develop the team and we’ll continue to do so in the future.”

Part of the Sumo Group family, Atomhawk is the second studio to receive a TIGA STAR Award, with sister site Sumo Digital receiving theirs earlier this year. This win follows the recent announcement that Atomhawk would be launching its third studio – Atomhawk Advance – in 2022, led by Nader Alikhani.

Developed to benchmark the way companies of all sizes across the gaming sector are run, the TIGA STAR system examines a games business in four areas: Strategy, Teams, Advancement and Recognition. The studio passed all four of the TIGA STAR themes with flying colours.
