True Student Accommodation is hosting puppy parties during exam season to help students unwind.

To combat exam stress, residents at true Student accommodation around the UK are being treated to a puppy party. During these events, puppies are brought into the accommodation for students to play with to help lower stress levels.

“Having the dogs in has helped to relieve my exam stress”.

Dogs are brought in from the local area with handlers. Students are invited to take time out from their studies or revision and meet in one of the communal areas of the accommodation to spend some time with the animals.

While it’s obvious that spending time with an adorable puppy is good for the soul, recent groundbreaking studies by top scientists have proven that 10 minutes with a dog can help reduce the stress hormone cortisol and boost ‘feel-good’ hormones.

Harriet Yates from true Student said:

“At true Student, the health and well-being of our residents is at the forefront of our offering, and we’ve found that events such as our puppy parties are not only a great opportunity to unwind, but to stay social during what is a stressful time of year.”

For those who aren’t puppy fans, true residents have access to other well-being initiatives such as life coaches, nutritionists as well as skills workshops and organised days out to help promote positive mental health.
