A Stone’s Throw Festival has today revealed the first wave of acts for their second and biggest event to date, taking place on Saturday, May 25th 2024 within two buzzing towns along Newcastle’s stunning coastline.

Headlined by indie powerhouses Sundara Karma, the summer lineup also features Amsterdam trip Pip Blom, revered London rockers Gengahr, punk-infused sensations Bilk, DIY pop newcomer Downtown Kayoto and enigmatic Brighton sextet Opus Kink, alongside a host of the North East’s finest talent.

“The Newcastle date on our headline tour at the end of last year was definitely one of the best, so we’re very excited to be back in the North East headlining A Stone’s Throw festival at the end of May!”

Speaking ahead of their headline performance, Sundara Karma

Debuting in May 2022, A Stone’s Throw’s inaugural event featured over 60 artists, swarming Newcastle’s coastline and forming the first North East coastal music trail between Tynemouth and North Shields, with the likes of Sam Tompkins, Berwyn, Lauren Hibberd and Heidi Curtis all on the bill. Transforming coffee shops, event warehouses, CBD dispensaries, and working men’s clubs into fully fledged music venues for the day, the festival also collaborated with Go North East and North Tyneside Council to provide an open top double decker bus service, transporting wristband holders from venue to venue, whilst live brass bands performed on the upper deck.

With 9 venues taking part this year, encompassingan array of independent bars, venues and unique spaces, and trusted local bus service Go North East once again supplying open top buses and a 7 minute round trip between, A Stone’s Throw is primed to provide another refreshing, unique and memorable music festival experience.

“We’re delighted to be bringing our flagship tastemaker event A Stone’s Throw Festival back to the beautiful Newcastle coastline this May 25th! Delivering the event in 2022 was a huge deal for us and by doing so, I believe we managed to establish the event on a national scale. This led us to many new ideas and exciting conversations regarding how we can continue to develop and execute a music discovery event worthy of peoples’ hard-earned cash. This all said, we aim to smash it out the park in 2024 and ensure everybody has the best possible time!”
