Later this month, Newcastle fans of Nell Bryden will have the chance to enjoy an intimate gig from the singer-songwriter.

The New-York-born, London-based musician is embarking on a UK tour to support her new EP Soundtrack to Little Wing (Part 1), as well as her recently released album Living Room Sessions.

Nell Bryden will play Newcastle’s Cluny 2 on Thursday 20th June.

Nell’s new album is a response to the demands of her fans. Several months ago, Nell began a weekly Radio 2 series, featuring stripped-back acoustic recordings that Nell had made with her band in her London home.

The fans kept asking for an album of these recordings to be released. Nell listened and was happy to oblige.

Living Room Sessions came out on May 21st, coinciding with a performance in Ken Bruce’s Piano Room on BBC Radio 2.

The EP Soundtrack to Little Wing (Part 1) is intended as a companion to Nell’s forthcoming novel, also entitled Little Wing. A new full album will also be released at the same time as the book.

The single Smoke in my Heart – from Soundtrack to Little Wing (Part 1) – has been Radio 2 playlisted.

Nell Bryden and her band will be touring the UK this June and July, playing 15 dates in total. Nell’s rootsy set will acknowledge the influence of her idols, such as Dusty Springfield, Aretha Franklin and Carole King.

Fans should expect soulful and heartfelt performances of Nell’s new songs as well as favourites from her back catalogue.
