Christmas is just around the corner and a fantastic present for Healthwatch Newcastle would be the appointment of a new Chair for its Healthwatch Committee.

Healthwatch Newcastle gathers and represents the views and experiences of children and adults on local health and social care services. They analyse and act upon the feedback provided by patients and the public, helping them to work with providers and commissioners to drive service improvements in the city.

The voluntary role of the Healthwatch Chair would suit someone with a strong desire to make a difference and the ability to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds. The Chair also leads to providing strategic direction and building strong partnerships with key stakeholders.

Siobhan O’Neil, Chief Executive of Healthwatch Newcastle and Healthwatch Gateshead, is looking forward to working with the new Chair.

“This is a voluntary, unpaid role which would suit someone with previous experience in the health or care sector. It’s Christmas so we are hoping that Santa will be good to us and send us the right person in the New Year.”

The closing date for applications is 12 noon on Friday 15 January 2021.
Interviews will take place week beginning Monday 25 January 2021.
