Television Star Vicky Pattison Joins FoodCycle as Ambassador to Fight Food Poverty and Loneliness

FoodCycle, the organization dedicated to eradicating food poverty, loneliness, and food waste from every community, has introduced a fresh ambassador to their cause.

This role will be undertaken by Vicky Pattison, a renowned television personality and a native of Newcastle.

Television and media star, Vicky was first introduced to FoodCycle through the Christmas Meal Appeal their corporate partner Just Eat. Having visited a Project as part of the campaign and meeting some of our guests Vicky was keen to do more.  She has since helped raise awareness of our work and volunteered at FoodCycle Walker Project which is close to where she grew up.

“I was super excited to spend the day at FoodCycle Walker to help out with the weekly community meal. I grew up literally round the corner from here and I’m very proud of where I’m from. I feel like now, more so than ever, its super important that those that can are helping others. Today has been incredible, to see the work that is going on in my region. It’s inspirational and I’m very proud to have been involved.”

As a FoodCycle Ambassador, Vicky will support the national charity that saves surplus food and transforms it into free community meals every week across Newcastle & Tyne. The local celebrity rose to fame through her appearance on Geordie Shore and taking part in Celebrity Masterchef and I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here. She is also a published author, mental health advocate, has her own podcast and co-hosts drive time on Heart North East with Adam Lawrence.

“FoodCycle is absolutely incredible, and I feel very proud to be an ambassador and support their work. I feel like now, more so than ever it’s important that anyone who can, is supporting their community, whether that’s raising awareness or getting stuck in and volunteering.  You should really get down there – the volunteers whip up amazing food – I came second on Celebrity MasterChef and I couldn’t do half the stuff they do in a FoodCycle kitchen!”
