This Easter, the North East’s largest leisure park, Ocean Beach Pleasure Park in South Shields, is set to delight families even further with new rides and attractions.

Welcoming thousands of visitors annually, the award-winning park offers a wide range of entertainment, from classic side shows to the latest thrilling rides.

And this Easter weekend thrill seekers will be able to try the newest additions to the park, alongside their favourite classic attractions.

This year has already seen the introduction of a big wheel and – making its first-ever appearance at Ocean Beach – a new spinning coaster.

Both offer riders spectacular views across South Tyneside’s parks and coastline, while new, Easter additions include a beach slide, Mini Miami, Tagada and King Swing.

With its bright colours and flashing lights, Mini Miami is a child-friendly version of the popular adult attraction, while Tagada is the very definition of a bumpy ride, as riders sit in a round bowl which spins and bounces them off their seats.

For adrenaline junkies, there is King Swing while the beach slide offers fun for younger visitors.

These join an impressive selection of permanent fixtures at the site including the Log Flume, Super Jumper and the Pirate Ship alongside a Kids’ Corner with mini trampolines, teacups, flying jets and a range of other family-friendly attractions.

The park’s amusement arcades and Quasar laser quest – which are open all year around – give the option of additional experiences, to really add to a day packed with variety.

And classic fairground attractions, such as hook a duck and other sideshows where visitors can win prizes, are also now fully operational, with fully contactless payments available with the Ocean Beach Fun Card which can be used on rides and in the arcades.

Michael Sheeran from Ocean Beach Pleasure Park said Easter weekend was “the perfect time to unveil all our new attractions.

“Spring is here, the holidays have started and, not only have we got enough fun and adventure for all the family, but the beach is right on the doorstep,” he said.

“In fact, there’s so much to do here there really is no need to go anywhere else.”
