The Pavers Foundation charitable organisation of the family-owned-and-run footwear retailer Pavers, has donated £500 to Rock Solid, a non-profit organisation that runs bouldering events for under 18’s.
The Foundation made the donation on behalf of Dexter Lynch, Pavers Head Office York, who applied through the employee-led, charitable giving scheme.
Rock Solid is run solely on volunteers and runs youth climbing events across the Northeast and Lakes region.
Chris Bullock, the areas Youth Co-ordinator said:
“The grant awarded by Pavers Foundation is extremally generous and we are most grateful. To receive a cash award from a company outside of our sport is very gratifying and I think emphasises the growing awareness of sport climbing amongst the public at large”.
It was after attending a Rock Solid event with his son, that Dexter saw the benefits of the sport on the young people there and how many were being encouraged to participate by the organisation, leading him to apply for a grant to support the continuation of the group and its future events.
The Pavers Foundation is delighted to support causes up and down the UK and beyond, the vast majority of which are nominated by colleagues of the business, with other donations being made on behalf of the Paver family. More recently, the Foundation has launched Customer Causes, a new initiative that invites customers to nominate charities or community groups close to their hearts. Find out more here.
The foundation proudly makes a different to local communities and more recently has taken steps to explore environmentally positive initiatives. To date, the Pavers Foundation has awarded over 2.2 million in donations.
