DANCERS Olivia Stanger-Crosby and Sophia Blair are celebrating excellent A Level results, having each secured a place at the prestigious Northern School of Contemporary Dance (NSCD).

Both talented pupils achieved an A* in Dance at Dame Allan’s Schools in Newcastle.

Olivia, from Newcastle, also earned an A* in Theatre Studies, while Sophia, from Morpeth, achieved an A in Business. Both students received a B in Psychology. Next month, they will head to Leeds to begin the BA Hons Contemporary Dance degree at the renowned conservatoire.

Olivia and Sophia have danced since the age of three and during their Sixth Form years trained between 14 and 18 hours each week around their studies. They also danced in the Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) program at Dance City in Newcastle

“I love the close-knit community that comes with dancing and the creative outlet it provides.”

The 18 year old will follow in the footsteps of her sister Maisie, who was awarded a place at the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance in 2022.

“I’m so proud of Liv. Her dancing this year has made me so proud to be her older sister, and I love that we’ll be in the same industry in the years to come.”

Sophia credits her success to the support of her teachers at Dame Allan’s.

“The dance department and teachers have been one of the best parts of my school experience. My form teacher, Mrs. Walton, has been incredibly supportive, coming to see every single show and performance!”

Sophia

“At Dame Allan’s, we are passionate about nurturing our students’ talents, and both Olivia and Sophia exemplify the excellence and spirit we strive to foster. Their dedication, talent and hard work have truly shone through.”
