North East Dog Charity Scoops European Award for Tackling Loneliness with PetsLONDON, JANUARY 21ST 2026 – Purina, Europe’s leading pet-care provider, has today announced the three winners of its BetterWithPets prize, including Wag & Company from the UK. Now in its fourth iteration, the £173,000 (€200,000) fund recognises the work of organisations and social entrepreneurs who help improve the health and wellbeing of people in vulnerable situations through leveraging the pet-human bond. The winners support those in vulnerable situations, including providing therapeutic dog visits to elderly people in socially isolated areas, animal-assisted interventions for war-affected populations, and assistance dogs for diabetic children.
