NEWCASTLE’S most stylish venue is entering into the spirit of Halloween with pumpkin flavoured teatime treats and a specially created cocktail.

On Sunday 31 October Leila Lily’s, at Grey Street, will serve up a specially created Afternoon Tea – for one day only.

The venue – owned by Malhotra Group plc – was recently named North East Pub and Bar of the Year for Tyne and Wear.

And along with a menu of savoury and sweet delicacies, customers will be able to ward off evil spirits with a Tipsy Tea cocktail – created to a secret recipe – to share.

The savoury dishes on offer are short rib of beef chilli dog and buttermilk chicken slider, with truffle mac’n’cheese and a pumpkin, goat’s cheese and red onion scone suitable for vegetarians.

Then sweet treats include a pumpkin macaron, an Oreo Mont Blanc, apple Jell-o, a traditional plain scone with cream and jam and Death by Chocolate, with caramel, pistachio and cherry.

Rosie May Edge, Assistant Business Manager at Leila Lily’s, said the Tipsy Tea was designed to soothe rather than scare and was “a great way of celebrating Halloween in comfort and style.

“Although, the Tipsy Tea cocktail certainly has a kick to it,” she said.

The Halloween Tipsy Tea costs £25pp and bookings, which are essential, can be made at www.leilalilys.co.uk.
