Nick Kincaid, a partner with Hadaway and Hadaway in North Shields, was elected President of the Newcastle upon Tyne Law Society on 2nd March 2020. The Society was established in 1826 and Nick is the 194th President.

Hadaway and Hadaway was founded in 1901 by Stanley Hadaway, who was later joined by his brother Victor. Nick is not the first Law Society President from the firm; he follows Stanley Grenville March, who was the Society’s President in 1955, as well as a national Law Society Council Member. Hadaway and Hadaway is the largest firm in North Tyneside and is pleased to have many members of the local community as clients.

Nick’s work includes all aspects of family law. A large part of his practice includes the representation of children in public law proceedings. He is a long term resident at the Coast and lives in North Shields with his wife Gill. He is a keen member and supporter of Tynemouth Sailing Club.

Nick said ‘I feel immensely proud and privileged to be elected President of Newcastle Law Society and look forward to representing the excellent profession we have here in the north east’.

The Newcastle upon Tyne Law Society is one of the larger local law societies in England and Wales. It is the northern arm of the County Societies Group which works with solicitors from Devon, Somerset, Kent, Surrey, Leicester, Cheshire and North Wales.

On the same date, Max Winthrop from Short Richardson and Forth Solicitors was elected Vice President, and Elspeth Thomson from David Gray Solicitors in Newcastle stepped into the role of Deputy Vice President.
