Newcastle’s Craft Beer Offering Just Got Bigger joining Beer Street and The Delta Lounge to create a great trio of micropubs behind Central Station.

Isaac Vernon is Newcastle born&bred, a former student of St Thomas More & Queen Alexandra Sixth Form college in North Shields. After graduating Graphic Design at Kingston University in London, Isaac decided to move home and persue his dream of opening a craft beer bar.

Throughout his time in London he worked at
7000 Jars of Beer & picked up tons of beer knowledge, brewery contacts and experience. At the age of just 21 Isaac has been able to launch Mosaic Tap by securing a startup loan with Transmit. He found the perfect railway arch in Forth Banks, just along the road from Errant Brewery, near Central Station and just behind the Centre for Life. After a very intense renovation period he opened last
week in time for Christmas festivities.

Mosaic Tap is a vibrant craft beer taproom and bottleshop selling high quality brews pouring from ten taps as well as natural wines, takeout brews, premixed cocktails and small batch spirits. Isaac intends to focus on local & specialist breweries, getting new kegs on a weekly basis to ensure an array of exciting beers that are constantly in rotation. Ensuring his offering is constantly varied means Mosaic gets to showcase a selection of the best beers from the evergrowing UK craft beer scene.

Malcolm Tyson, Technician in Art and Design of Queen Alexandra Sixth Form College, said:

“I’m extremely proud of Isaac on his new business venture. Isaac is a testament to Queen Alexandra, proving hard work and dedication pays off. As he is such a talented, creative, and friendly individual, I am confident that his business will continue to thrive. We wish him all the best for the future.”

Isaac says:

My core intention is to educate people on how exciting beer can be in a super friendly environment where they can ask any questions & taste a big range of beers my vision is to expand everyones knowledge into the array of great offerings available, including sour beer, organic cider, milk stouts, natural winethe lot!

Isaac and the team will be serving amazing brews from 3pm to 11pm Wednesday to Sunday for drink in and take away.
