A brand new 2-day festival held inside Newcastle Castle

The medieval castle at the heart of the city will host two nights of live music from some of the most talented musical acts from the North-East. The event will take place between Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th September.

The evenings will feature performances in various different spaces through the castle, which is something that really sets The Rookery’s events at Newcastle Castle apart. These events will be completely unique experiences. A feast of musical talent paired with an after-hours tour of one Newcastle’s most iconic structures. Prepare to be guided through dungeons, great halls and maybe even a trip to the rooftop if you’re lucky (guests should be prepared to tackle several flights of medieval staircases)!

The Saturday will be headlined by Gateshead’s own Keiran Bowe. Since his first release in 2019, Kerian has established himself as a voice for the North-East, drawing on his relatable experiences of growing up in the area. The day will also feature performances from Crowley, Ceramic and India Arkin.

Sunday is headlined by Cortney Dixon, a hometown hero of Newcastle who has gained notoriety over recent years for her guitar-driven, hook-laden melodies which have drawn comparison to Fleetwood Mac, PJ Harvey and Sharon Van Etten. The Sunday line-up is completed by Generation, Garden Party and Palma Louca.

The Rookery will be returning to host an event at Newcastle Castle for the first time since the pandemic, having previously hosted 2 successful nights of live music in the castle in 2019.

Tickets are available now, with individual day tickets priced at £20 and a limited number of weekend tickets are available at the discounted price of £30 for both nights. There will be a bar on site and therefore the events are 18+.

This will be a live music experience like no other.
