Mincoffs Solicitors is supporting grassroots sport in the North East as the first team’s home and away kit sponsor at Gosforth Bohemians Football Club.

Established in 1894, Gosforth Bohemians is the oldest amateur football club in the North East and now has more than 520 junior and senior players, with a pathway stretching from under-5s through to veterans’ football.

Club and Facilities

Based at the Bohemians Sports Ground at Brunton Park in Gosforth, with teams also playing at Kenton School, the club has continued to grow following its merger with Kingston Park Juniors in 2023.

More than 400 young players now represent Bohemians, while its senior section has more than 120 players competing across five teams.

The club is also working towards a new artificial pitch community hub facility alongside Kenton School, the Football Foundation and Northumberland FA. The proposed facility would provide year-round playing opportunities for young people, schools, community groups and grassroots teams, while supporting the club’s ambitions for further progression.

Comments on the Partnership

Matthew Flinders, commercial director at Mincoffs Solicitors, said:

Grassroots clubs like Bohemians give people much more than the opportunity to play football. They bring people together, build confidence and create a sense of belonging that extends beyond matchday.

What stands out about Bohemians is its commitment to creating opportunities at every stage, from children taking their first steps in football to players who have been involved for decades.

We want our support to contribute to that work. Through this partnership, we hope to build a lasting relationship with the club as it develops opportunities for the next generation.

James Katirai, treasurer of Gosforth Bohemians Football Club, said:

We are delighted to welcome Mincoffs as our first team’s home and away kit sponsor and hope this marks the start of a partnership that will continue for many years.

Support from local businesses makes a real difference to a community club like ours. We want to build on Bohemians’ 130 year+ history by creating more opportunities for people to play football and improving the facilities available to them.

The partnership forms part of Mincoffs’ ongoing commitment to supporting sports clubs, charities and community organisations across the North East.
