The North East’s biggest celebration of the LGBTQ+ community is giving businesses the opportunity to support Northern Pride 2022.

Northern Pride is a flagship event for the region which brings together the community in celebration of inclusivity and accessibility.

And now the event – which this year is also UK Pride – is looking for more companies to support the growing band of existing sponsors at what is the biggest free Pride in the country.

The event – which runs over the weekend of 23- 24 July at Newcastle’s Town Moor – has recently announced Barclays return as its main sponsor, with Newcastle City Council, Eldon Square, Jonarc, Ubisoft, The Mix and Metro Radio also giving their support.

But there is still time for any other organisation which would like to add their name to the list to show their allegiance, with the promise of an extra special in person event this year, following two years of a virtual event.

There are numerous ways in which business can get involved including sponsoring a satellite event, bringing a business to the rainbow village, advertising a business either in the Pride Guide or at the festival itself, or making a donation to the charity.

Said Ste Dunn, Director of Northern Pride Events Ltd: “There are plenty of opportunities for businesses to get involved and support Northern Pride. In return they will play a very vital role in our biggest, most creative and exciting festival to date.

“We would not be able to deliver our festival, our outreach work, or our campaigns if it wasn’t for our supporters, sponsors, and partners.

“Northern Pride is all about inclusivity and accessibility and will give sponsors a fantastic platform for demonstrating their solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community.”

Pride weekend will get underway on Friday 22 July, with a Friday night fundraiser headlined by Broadway star, famed choreographer, and award-winning performer Todrick Hall.
