Some of the world’s greatest soul music legends are to play Sage Gateshead in May.
The Soul Train Tour – put together by the producer, promoter and celebrity David Gest – has been entertaining music lovers across the world for the last decade.
Gest – who was a close friend of Michael Jackson, a judge on ITV 1’s Soapstar Superstar and a contestant on the 2006 series of I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! – sadly passed away in 2016.
But the Soul Train Tour continues and it’s due to visit Gateshead on 6th May 2019 – with a range of soul icons singing the songs that made them famous.
The show is due to feature Dina Carroll, famous for the hits Preacher Man, Perfect Year and Ain’t No Man.
The show will also include Mari Wilson – Just What I Always Wanted – and Freda Payne, whose hits include Band of Gold.
GC Cameron of the Spinners will be performing the tunes Could it Be I’m Falling in Love?, Working my Way back to You and It’s a Shame.
The concert will also feature Junior (My Mamma Used to Say), The Flirtations (Nothing But a Heartache) and Lenny Zakatek (I haven’t Stopped Dancing Yet).
Another star who will be performing at the Sage is Eban Brown, who used to be the lead singer of The Stylistics. Some of The Stylistics’ smash hits include I’m Stone in Love with You, You Make Me Feel Brand New, and Star on a TV Show.
And – as if that’s not enough for an incredible evening – the show will also feature special guests Odyssey, famous for the song Native New Yorker.
The Soul Train Tour will visit Gateshead Sage on Monday 6th May 2019, with the concert beginning at 7.30 pm.
